The Franklin Woodturners Club Inc consists of a group of people who enjoy woodturning and working with wood. The Club was formed in November 1998 to promote and share the skills and experience of woodturning.
Today club membership is in excess of 50 members who come from the greater Franklin area. Members vary in ages from the young to the retired and from novice to experienced woodturners. They come from all walks of life, and are both males and females.
In 2008 members completed the building of a new clubroom in Collingwood Rd, Waiuku. The Clubroom is equipped with a number of lathes and a variety of woodturning equipment, and is set up to facilitate skills training and demonstrations. There is also a library and small shop of woodturning supplies for members use.
